October 30, 2022 - Unknown Gods

We revisit a chapter in the book of Jonah, and compare it to one in the book of Acts.  One of the teachings we see in the Bible is that we have been blessed to be a blessing.  We have been chosen to be messengers of good news to the world.  We study the culture and world around us with a heart to understand the gods of our age.  And then we aim to proclaim good news into a city that is seeking meaning and truth.

October 23, 2022 - A Greater Mercy

First Jonah is angry about God’s mercy, and now he is angry about a plant! If we are like Jonah, this passage reminds us that most often, we care about ourselves and our comfort. We might even believe God exists to make us comfortable.  While God loves us dearly as His children, our comfort is not always His first priority.
