“What are you afraid of?”“What are you doing here?”“What is God telling you to do?”These are three questions that come from this week’s passage about the prophet Elijah. We will see how God met Elijah in a time of great despair and fear, and invited him into doing something new. How will we seek to hear the voice of God in our lives?Scripture: 1 Kings 19:3-17Preaching: Pastor David Burke

Moses is chosen by God to be the one who helps deliver Israel from 400 years of slavery. Moses has many questions about this call, but ultimately is able to accomplish exactly what God said he would. We too might have questions about God’s call on our lives, but we can trust this: We can go wherever God calls us!

This week, we will look at a heart-wrenching story. It is the story of Joseph, a man hated by his brothers, who sold him into slavery. However, that act led to Joseph being ultimately taken to Egypt, where he was elevated to a position of influence. That position ultimately led to him being able to save his family and a multitude of others from famine. Joseph sees the acts of his brothers being redeemed by God, who he sees as the One who really sent him to Egypt. Can we see, in the midst of our difficulties, the hand of Someone guiding us and sending us?

While phones and computer developers recently gave us the option to “Undo Send” our texts and emails, God has not hit “Undo Send” when it comes to His people. We will look at a passage in Acts 2, that many point to as the birth of the church. From this amazing event, God’s people returned to their homes, sent to spread the message of God’s only Son, risen from the dead, sent to us for the forgiveness of our sins and new life in His name.
