Have you ever been a part of building something new, or planting something new?  It is no secret that to do something that has not been done before requires tearing down or uprooting.  That is difficult work.  Sometimes the work of removing an old tree and its roots is much, much harder than the work of planting a new one.   This week, we will see how God calls Jeremiah to be about uprooting and planting for what God wants to do in the world. And, this invites us to consider what new thing God wants to do in us!

Moses is chosen by God to be the one who helps deliver Israel from 400 years of slavery.  Moses has many questions about this call, but ultimately is able to accomplish exactly what God said he would.  We too might have questions about God’s call on our lives, but we can trust this:  We can go wherever God calls us!

June 4, 2023 - Sent to Give Bread for the Hungry

This week, we will look at a heart-wrenching story.  It is the story of Joseph, a man hated by his brothers, who sold him into slavery.  However, that act led to Joseph being ultimately taken to Egypt, where he was elevated to a position of influence. That position ultimately led to him being able to save his family and a multitude of others from famine.  Joseph sees the acts of his brothers being redeemed by God, who he sees as the One who really sent him to Egypt.  Can we see, in the midst of our difficulties, the hand of Someone guiding us and sending us?
